Maj John Foote VC

Major John W Foote VC chaplain of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry and one of three recipients of the Victoria Cross awarded for the Dieppe raid.He won his award for his bravery attending to the dead and wounded on Red and White Beaches. He declined the offer to be evacuated and went into captivity with his men.
