9th Canadian Infantry Brigade lands over Nan White Beach at Bernieres during the late morning of D Day. The width of the beach has been reduced to just a few meters by the incoming tide and the small stretch of dry sand at the top is becoming congested by troops and equipment, slowing up the arrival of the follow up battalions.
